Autism All-Stars

Looking at the positive influences, great talents and unique thought processes of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, this book is a celebration of those who have used their autism to shine in life.

Writers from all over the world at different stages in their careers, and from very different backgrounds, share their experiences of creating a successful life on the autism spectrum. Each explains how it is possible to draw on autistic strengths not just to make your way in the world, overcoming challenges and obstacles, but also to make your life a real success. Education, the world of work, and relationships are the focus of the first part of the book, which then goes on to look at exceptional creativity, and the use of special interests.

The autobiographical stories in this book are full of wisdom and humour, and will be an inspiration for anyone with high-functioning autism or Asperger Syndrome, their family and friends, and the professionals who work alongside them.

Asperger Download

Damian and I are pleased to finally announce our book, Asperger Download. Damian was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome twelve years ago; I, on the other hand, was diagnosed as Damian's mum seventeen years ago.
Let me say right away that Damian was the driving force behind the creation of this book. He wanted to share both his positive and negative experiences of being a teen with AS with the wider community of teen males with AS. In particular, he wanted to share how he dealt with life's challenges during his teenage years.
My role throughout the writing process was to represent the neutral voice, and the voice of the parent/guardian. Asperger Download is also a culmination of our Asperger journey together as mother and son.
Even though the writing process was not as easy as we would have liked, there were times of elation and joy We believe this resource will not only benefit male teens with AS , but also provide parents and educators with further insight and understanding. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed (at least most of the time!) writing it.
